ISD Challenge Report #7

ISD Challenge Weekly Report #7 –

ISD Challenge Weekly Report #7 – 27th of November 2006

Introduction

Greetings,

Raise the Flag has entered its final week. Actually, there are just four days left that count for points, besides the Freeworlds bonus competition, which will grant 2000 extra points to the winning ship, and will take place next Saturday in the EH FW server. So, this is the time for us to make an extra effort to gather whatever points we can. This last four days, I mean. Every bit of activity is necessary. Right now, we have the lead of the competition, but my concern is that if the Redemption or DGN Lichtor V wins the FW bonus comp, they can overtake us.

Now, let’s talk a little about the FW bonus comp. It will be a Territorial Engagement in Freeworlds, in which every ship members will fight each other defending their ships, until the last one remains. Needless to say, we need every pilot available to get in there and defend the Challenge. I mean it. Every FW capable pilot is required to enter the EH FW server next Saturday, near 1300hrs EST. (Before that time, so we can organize). I won’t be able to make much of a difference on my own in there, people....get your FW up and running, and let’s fight to defend the Challenge.

I’m very proud of this week’s flying activity in this ship, as well as the academic participation. MAJ Diaboli, LT Thorper, LT Zosite, CPT Great Griffin, COL Domi, keep it up!!!! The others....try to follow their example...

Sadly, three pilots left the Challenge for the reserves this week. LT Delacroix Vaygen, CM Valin Drago and MAJ Elwood the Brave. We wish them the best of luck, and safe trip to the M/FRG Phoenix. We hope they can find their way back into the Challenge soon.

Azurin’s run-on comp has ended. It was a nice run-on, despite me getting thrown over the bar counter :) We’re waiting for the results.

It seems like Talons is recovering well. He has returned and is working on compiling the information for his report, which should be out sometime tomorrow. Welcome back, T.

And once again congrats to newly promoted LT Zosite Konstyte Styles, who must have a way with the force, because he, somehow, got me and Darklord to pay for the celebration drinks....I’m still confused on how that happened...

Former Wing X member, COL Mosh, who’s currently in Praetorian Squadron, has made a nice submission about me to the Raise the Flag competition...check it out at http://mosh.ehdb.net/prae/DansWeekend.html :)

Competitions

* Kill the TCCOM!
Every time Frothy is dueled and killed in Freeworlds, the pilot who did so wins an IS-BW! This is only for the emperorshammer's Freeworld server! http://freeworlds.emperorshammer.net/. Deadline is December 15th. You get an IS-BW for killing “Frothy”.

* Raise the Flagship 2006
All competition information can be found here: http://fo.emperorshammer.net/sc9/events.asp.

* Season’s Reflections
The participants are to search for or create (better to create) submissions from the fields of poetry, story writing, graphics, and audio categories that say the most of what the upcoming holidays mean to you. Only one entry per category may be made. Star Wars twists are encouraged. Original creations will garner better scores. Each entry will be worth up to 100 points. The Grand winner will be the one with the most points overall. Writing: The submission must have at least 1 full page single spaced lines that fit the theme. Poetry: The submission may be of any type of poetry (except limerick). Grammar and diction are key in this category. Graphics: Copyrighted materials will disqualify the entrant from the category. Audio: This can be either self-made songs, a recording of your own writings you recite, or anything of this nature. This category must be accompanied by a written explanation as to why it says "This is what the season is to me". The explanation is not needed for recitations of personal created works. Copyright enforcement is in effect with this competition as the winners will have their works submitted to the newsletter for publication. Audio submissions may be submitted as links to a site to be determined. Proof of authorship may be required in some cases. Medal Awards are: Iron Star: Gold ribbons (1 for each category and for the Grand Winner), Silver ribbons for each runner up, Bronze ribbons for the third place entries and honorable mentions. Deadline is the end of this month, and submissions go to Talons Pryde.

* Master’s TIE Golf Comp
This is Master’s TIE Golf comp....you have to subscribe until October 25th to participate. Check it out here: http://tac.emperorshammer.net/TIEGolf/

* Master's Monthly Map Mayhem
Start Date: 10/1/2006
Parties Involved: EH-wide
Medals: IS-GR, IS-SR, IS-BR (or subgroup equivalent) each month.
According to the System Manual (
http://sysman.emperorshammer.net/) the EH is in control of ten systems.
Each month Master is going to pick a planet from one of the EH Controlled Systems* from the manual. Those interested will then have the remainder of the month to create a Empire at War or SW Galactic Battlegrounds or Jedi Academy map based on that planet.

*Master may throw in the odd other planet from SW from time to time with more bonuses.
Designers are free to do as they like with the map provided basics stay true to the System Manual information.
Maps will be judged on: Technical realization (use wat u got), general plotline & general enjoyment.
All maps should be submitted ala standard TACcy Rules and via the Custom BSF (
http://tac.emperorshammer.net/tacdb/batsubmit.asp)
All maps will be judged by TAC.

* Ace of the Tie Corps
Starting this month, we now have a new monthly competition series - Ace of the TIE Corps. The concept is simple - the pilot with the most flown missions at the end of each month will recieve an Iron Star with Gold Wings and the title "Ace of the Month". You will be able to see the progress of pilots over time by checking the Pilot Kill Board. At the end of the year, the pilot with the most missions flown will recieve an Iron Star with Platinum Wings and the title of "Ace of the TIE Corps".
The competition is open to all members of the TIE Corps and the counts are based on missions. Thus a battle will earn you more points than a free mission. The June 2006 division of the competition will end on 30th June, so get flying. Good luck!

* Imperial Alliance Propoganda Festival
Submit content to help promote Imperial Alliance. This can include banners, slogans, etc. The best entry each week will get an IS-GR. The best entry overall will be selected when Imperial Alliance is released and will be awarded an IS-PR. Email entries to propoganda@ehtiecorps.org. Competition will run through January 30th, 2007.

* Quote of the Week competition
Got some funny IRC quotes? Send them in! Top 3 submissions per week earn an IS-BR; top 3 submissions per month earn an IS-SR; IS-PR to the yearly winner, IS-GR to second best yearly submission, and a IS-SR to the third best yearly submissions. Email the quotes to FA Joe (Noon001@aol.com). Only rules are they must have been said within the last 2 weeks (no old, archived quotes) and you can't send in quotes of things that you have said. Must be amusing things others have said. Competition will run through January 21st, 2007.

* Wing X Pilot of the Week/Month 2
Each week the Wing X Commander will choose a pilot he believes has performed better then any other pilot on the ship that week. At the end of the month, Challenge Commodore will look at the overall performance of every Pilot of the Week for that month, and will choose one of them to become the Pilot of the Month. Each Pilot of the Week will be awarded an IS-BR and each Pilot of the Month will be awarded an IS-SR. The Wing X Pilot of the week will always be chosen in the Wing Commander’s report.

Dark Lord of the Week

The highly prestigious title of Dark Lord of the Week is only given to the person who has most advanced the success of the Wing, amused the Wing Commander, or slipped me the most $5 notes in a brown paper bag. This week's winner is:

LT Thorper, for flying like hell and doing IWATS!!!

Ewok of the Week

Yub Yub!

Every story has a hero, every journey has a first step, every Fleet has a pilot who's about as much use as an ashtray on a speeder bike. This weeks's Prize Ewok is none other than:

LT Delacroix Vaygen, for being unreachable!!

Quote of the Week

Woody: “...it would be nice if you could leave me on the mailing lists so I can keep track of what happens :D”

Prost: “You mean you want to actually get all the spam messages?? :P”

Woody: “Guess I can handle that P :D”

Oskar: “That’s an open invitation for spam if ever there was one! Muhahah! :P”
