SD-II Challenge COMMODORE'S LOG
03.06.06 Imperial Calendar

The ISD Challenge has put in for repairs following our successful campaign against the pirates. I have granted my pilots some well-deserved shore leave, and they are taking it in all the usual ways - drinking, debauchery and women (or men). In the meantime, I held interviews for Wing Commander, and I was happy to announce the appointment of Daniel Bonini to the position. I believe he will do an outstanding job.

Engineering tells me that several turbolaser turrets need to be replaced, and our engine assembly has taken heavy damage. While we undergo repairs, we will be engaging in several training exercises. Cyclone, Inferno and Tornado have all done well of late, and I expect them to lead the charge against the Grey Wolf and the Colossus...

ISD Challenge Status

Hiyo ISD Challenge,

Well, I've worked for almost two straight days, but I've managed to get most of my obligations out of the way. =) The February MWE is in, all recommendations have been made, two promotions have already been issued and a new Wing Commander has been appointed. I have already been deep in discussion with LC Daniel Bonini, the new Wing X WC, about the direction of the wing and our strategy for tackling the TO competition. We both feel that it is very important that the Challenge defeat the Mutt, Sov and Colossus to maintain our preeminent position in the fleet.

With Daniel's departure, there has been a vacant position left for Tempest. The position is not currently open for applications as Daniel and I have several candidates in mind for the spot. If you're really cool and special, we may just be contacting you very soon! Our other concern is the Challenge's dwindling number as we continue to cut loose the AWOL pilots among us. Our goal is to get the Challenge back up to 50 pilots before too long, and that requires a coherent recruitment strategy. I'm thinking of implementing a "Help out the Cadet" day very soon...

With the MWE and a new WC comes the monthly awards announcements. Congratulations to Cyclone Squadron, the ISD Challenge Squadron of the Month, and to Mike, Stukhov, Nitecki, Michael, Domm, Wolf, Rover, Gward and Daniel, our Wing X Aces! Further congratulations to Da'emon Narshay, who takes home the Top Ace award!
On to the news!

Ship News

- In a somber, non-ship related note, a local sports legend from my home state died today. The great Kirby Puckett died following a massive stroke. I'm very sad. ;_;

- The TO Anniversary Competition is on, and our apocalyptic settling of scores with the Sov has been delayed. Details about the Anniversary Comp can be fun in the Competition Spotlight. The Collie has thrown down the gauntlet, and by all means, let them try and take us on. =)

- The push to win the TO Anniversary Competition is on! This week, if you wish to be eligible for March Ace status, you must either write three runon posts, write a plotline, make a graphic, write a fiction, design a mission or participate in the TO trivia!! Failure to do so means you will not be considered for the Ace award. = ) For those proactive pilots, completing two of the categories will garner you an ISM, and completing all categories nets you a PC! It's really not too hard, so give it a go!

- Lt. Colonel Daniel Bonini is our new Wing Commander! Congratulations, Daniel!

- Congratulations to Captain Rover (Tempest), LCM Gward (Tempest), Thomas Nitecki (Cyclone), Colonel Mike (Cyclone), Commander Nicholas (Cyclone), Alexi Stukhov (Thunder), Jeffery Domm (Tornado), Wolf Blacker (Tornado) and Daniel Bonini on being named Wing X Aces for February! Further congratulations to Major Narshay (Inferno) for being named Wing X February Top Ace!

- The ISD Challenge website is nearly complete! One more section to be done, and I will be able to upload it. =)
