Challenge COMMODORE'S LOG
01.30.06 Imperial Calendar
We have engaged the
enemy at the edge of the Phare System, primarily a mix of rebels and
pirates, and taken a few losses. It's never easy to say goodbye to
familiar faces, but it seems to be the reality of war.
Over the course of the
battle, I couldn't resist stretching my legs a bit in space and engaging
the enemy. Cyclone Squadron was right there with me, as usual, and
I'm delighted to report that the enemy fell quickly before us. We
will soon engage the enemy stronghold, and it's unlikely that they
have even a prayer.

Hiyo ISD Challenge,
Once again, I am pleased
with this weeks activity, as most of you have continued to contribute
in one way or another. The Tempest Warm-Up
competition came to an end, and Tornado
and Cyclone continue some of their good
activity from last week (particularly Commander Nicholas).
I'm sad to say that,
after picking up a few recruits for the Challenge, it was time to
clean house somewhat. Marlin, Phelan and several others headed to
the reserves, while Slagar/Xander went to take command of the Colossus.
With a recruitment competition going, I hope that we'll be able to
recoup some of our lost numbers soon. I know for a fact that a few
of our departed pilots will be back soon.
Speaking of competitions,
it's been a busy time aroudn here, as the COMM competition winds to
an end (I will never forgive the SOViets for what they did to the
Chall in the runon), the Challenge Anniversary competition is heating
up. ^^ The Beat the COM competition ends tomorrow, and then we will
be moving on to TIE Golf and an FCHG Race. And through all that, we
have graphics and artwork. Hooray!
As a final note for
this report, I have had a chance to look over all MSEs for this month,
and I would like to congratulate Cyclone Squadron
for capturing the ISD Challenge Squadron of the Month award. Congratulations,
Cyclone! All squadrons did well this month, and I hope you will all
keep it up as we get ready to face the Sov. =) And that's all for
now.

Ship News
- Goodbye to a slew
of pilots. Come back soon, I hope.
- MWE are done, and
Coranel and I are making recommendations.
- As some of you may
know, February 7th will mark the 10th anniversary of the ISD Challenge's
initial opening. To celebrate this happy occasion, Cor and I have
quite a few competitions lined up for the course of the entire month.
Be ready. =)
- Cyclone
Squadron is the January Squadron of the Month!
(Soon to have a better name)
- I made a bunch of patches for the ISD Challenge for IA: http://mb.emperorshammer.net/viewtopic.php?t=2767
(Coranel said the Typhoon made him cry blood, so it must be good)
Competion Spotlight
1. TIE Corps Battlegroup Training Night:
The TCBG sponsored MP night. Show up in IRC channel #EHCOO on Saturdays
at 6pm GMT (1pm EST) to win LoC's and DFC's!
2. A
Station Too Far: This is a COMM-sponsored comp that finally
begun. It is to include graphics, flying, fiction, and a run-on. To
check out what is up about it so far, check out http://www.comm.nunbeer.com/comp.html
3. Quote
of the Week competition: Got some funny IRC quotes? Send them
in! Top 3 submissions per week earn an IS-BR; top 3 submissions per
month earn an IS-SR; IS-PR to the yearly winner, IS-GR to second best
yearly submission, and a IS-SR to the third best yearly submissions.
Email the quotes to FA Joe ( Noon001@aol.com ) and FA Gilad ( gpj2331@sbcglobal.net
). Only rules are they must have been said within the last 2 weeks
(no old, archived quotes) and you can't send in quotes of things that
you have said. Must be amusing things others have said.
4. Imperial
Alliance Propoganda Festival: Submit content to help promote
Imperial Alliance. This can include banners, slogans, etc. The best
entry each week will get an IS-GR. The best entry overall will be
selected when Imperial Alliance is released and will be awarded an
IS-PR. Email entries to propoganda@ehtiecorps.org
5. Challenge Recruitment Competition:
To last from February 1st through March 31st. A two-month long recruitment
comp. The pilot who can recruit the largest number of new pilots into
the Challenge (including new SL's or old retired vets) will win an
IS-SR; IS-BR to the runner-up.
6. Fiction
Comp: It will last all month, until February 28th. To celebrate
the 10th anniversary of the ISD Challenge, a fiction competition.
A topic will be announced by the WC on February 1st; best fiction
will win an IS-SR, and an IS-BR to the runner-up. Will be judged by
Master and myself. The topic is as follows: "This month is AD
Master's fifth anniversary in the TIE Corps. His anniversary falls
on February 14th. Since he is a Challenge boy, and therefore quite
deranged, he is throwing a huge party on the Challenge (cause he certainly
couldn't throw it on the Sovereign. You know how those Sov types get)."
7. Graphics
Comp: It will last all month, until February 28th. To celebrate
the 10th anniversary of the ISD Challenge, a graphics competition.
A topic will be announced by the WC on February 1st; best graphic
will win an IS-SR, and an IS-BR to the runner-up. Will be judged by
me. The topic is as follows: I'm thinking about putting a new banner
up for the Wing X banner. I like the old one, but I'd be interested
to see what else can be put there instead. So make a replacement banner
for me, if I like it more than the old one, it'll go up.
8. Beat
the COM: It will last one week, ending on February 7th. To
celebrate the 10th anniversary of the ISD Challenge, a flying competition.
The ChalCOM will fly TIE-TC #200. The pilot with the best score over
the week will get an IS-SW. Also, any other pilot who can beat the
COM's score will earn themselves an IS-BW. Send your pilot files to
your CMDR per usual. The laserless score to beat is 228,498.

ISD 'Challenge' COMMODORE'S PERSONAL LOG
01.23.06 Imperial
Calendar
The loss of several
qualified pilots hurts, but the Challenge continues to move along.
The cycle continues, and our newer faces are contributing quite a
lot to the war effort. Eventually, they will be Challenge vets themselves,
and the will help the new guys. We just need to stay alive until that
happens. End of personal log.
