Wing X WC Report #13 - February 20, '05
(Locke): I'm in C class and someone mentioned that they used "goto" statements for the last assignment and I actually thought "Man, gotos? He must suck."... I cannot be so much of a geek to look down on someone for using gotos :P
-===Intro===-
The big news this week is that the Challenge has a new COM. Stuart has moved on, and is now the Training Officer! Congrats to him (and sympathies, cause the Sov is now in his ID line...the poor bastard)! Taking his place without any delay is RA Locke, a former ChalCOM and owner of numerous other TCBG Flag positions.
Also, the mailing lists are 'back' up, so to speak. The wing one is now Wingx@tcbg.net. Update your address books if you have it in there. Squad ones will be available shortly. Stay tuned!

* Congrats to Stuart and Locke both.
* The Challenge welcomes back COL George who returns to Typhoon after a very long stint in the RSV's! SL Marlin has also joined Typhoon, straight from the Daed. Welcome aboard!
* Grats to CPT Dan Bonini and CM Great Griffin on their IS-SW/IS-BW, respectively, for their first and second place win in the Wing X Birthday FCHG Race!
* If you've been doing activity like SWG or Freeworlds, make sure you let your CMDR's know! It counts as activity!

1. Boss the COM around! An unofficial comp, but if you can get a total of 5 wing members to "sign" a "petition" to get Stuart to do a certain activity (IE, fly 10 battles, create a battle, make up 40 trivia questions, etc.), he'll do it!
2. Wing X Birthday Drunken Revelry. This is a graphic and fiction comp. Between becoming the new TCBG Flagship and celebrating yet another birthday, the parties have become out of control. Create a graphic displaying the 'pleasantries;' write a fiction (under 1,000 words) describing any aspect of the 'party.' Topic(s) are fairly open as long as they have something to do with a drunken party in the cantina, or some other form of party. The top graphic and top fiction will receive an IS-SR. Runner up in each category will receive an IS-BR. Competition will run all month. Submissions are due March 2nd.
3. Wing X Birthday Binge/Tour! This comp is a TIE Golf comp! Hooray TIE Golf! The rules are simple, and most of you already know how it works. But for those newer members amongst us... The mission assigned for this comp is TIE-FREE #180. You are to fly the FREE. However, in this comp, the lowest score wins the IS-SW, with second lowest getting the IS-BW. Rules are that you must complete all of the Primary objectives; no using the cheats; no killing friendly craft; and no laser burn (shooting off lasers into space for 10 minutes to lower your score). Enjoy! Submissions for TIE Golf are due in by the 22nd of February: one week. Good luck!
