Wing X Report #16
LC Daniel Bonini 6/19/2006
Wing X Weekly Report #16 – 19th of June 2006
Introduction
Greetings
Granite is on leave, so I’m in charge of the ship for now. Anything you need, as usual, come directly to my office, and try not to have toilet paper stuck in your shoes like P...
Second week of Challenge vs. Sovereign Competition was not very good for our scores. The Sovereign has taken lead of the competition, despite Omicron Squadron has taken lead in the Squadron scores, but we are still very close to the Sovereign. I hope we can turn this around in this week’s results, or we will most likely face defeat. This cannot happen, so I urge you all to fly as much as you can and get the best score you can.
Once again, we are facing changes in the method of computing scores for this competition. It appears that some pilots in the Sovereign were complaining about not using laserless scores in the TIE battles. Therefore, the solution found is to make an average of both normal and laserless scores. This means that both scores count for the battles. So, get the best score you can either way... This does not apply for the TIE-Free missions, in which the laserless method is used at all times.
A lot of people have taken IWATS Tests since the competition started. Who knows, this may be what turns the competition around, so go take the tests you still haven’t. I did four tests myself so far. And also go post something on the Run-on at http://mb.emperorshammer.net/viewtopic.php?t=3440.
Also, write fiction and draw a picture for the comp... I received Azurin’s graphic today and it was great. Draw something, write something, and don’t forget to mock the Sovereign at all times :)
There were a couple of new TIE-Free missions released by the Tactical Office. I would tell you to go fly them, but new Free missions are most likely to be used in some competition, so, I would wait a little to fly them for some comp...who knows, we may still have another competition against other wing this year, and there are always internal Wing and Squadron Competitions being planned by Commanding Officers.
GA Astatine wants submissions for the newsletter at nl@emperorshammer.net. If you want to submit anything, make it so before the end of the month.

Good idea may be also to take OPT IWATS. Hard, but worth a lot of points. GFX and Fiction are to be send to me(mkotowicz@poczta.fm) Daniel Bonini (boninidaniel@yahoo.com.br) Zeth Durron (ml.cb2001@freenet.de) and Stele Palleaon (tieknt@gmail.com). Pilot files to same people, but CC your CMDRs. If you have any hints how to get better score, post them. We want to win, don't we? And now. To your cockpits! For the glory of Challenge! May the best (us) win.
* Ace of the Tie Corps
Starting this month, we now have a new monthly competition series - Ace of the TIE Corps. The concept is simple - the pilot with the most flown missions at the end of each month will recieve an Iron Star with Gold Wings and the title "Ace of the Month". You will be able to see the progress of pilots over time by checking the Pilot Kill Board. At the end of the year, the pilot with the most missions flown will recieve an Iron Star with Platinum Wings and the title of "Ace of the TIE Corps".
The competition is open to all members of the TIE Corps and the counts are based on missions. Thus a battle will earn you more points than a free mission. The June 2006 division of the competition will end on 30th June, so get flying. Good luck!
* TCBG Website!
The TCBG needs a new, functional, website. Create one for Coranel! IS-GR to the best one, IS-SR to second place, IS-BR to third place. There is no real set deadline for this, but Coranel set the deadline in the database as the end of June. Email all entries to Coranel (coranel@tcbg.net ) as soon as you can!!
* Golden Boot Prediction
The golden boot award goes to the player who has scored the most goals in the World Cup. Anyone who predicts who will win the golden boot gets an IS-GR. Detais in the “Pre-Tournament Predictions” section.
* Golden Gloves Prediction
The golden gloves award goes to the goalkeeper who has distinguished himself the most during the World Cup. Anyone who predicts who will win the golden gloves gets an IS-GR. Detais in the “Pre-Tournament Predictions” section.
* World Cup Champions
This section is designed for everyone and doesn't take much effort. All participants have to do is name who will come out victors in the World Cup. IS-SR to anyone who predicts who the winning team will be. Detais in the “Pre-Tournament Predictions” section.
* Pre-Tournament Predictions
This the biggest section. Participants will have to predict the results of a grand total of 64 games during the course of the tournament. Since this takes more effort than the previous comps, an IS-PR will be up for grabs (depending on the number of participants). Full details here: (insert comp details link)
For this section, we will keep a page up with up to date point totals for all the participants. Participant with the most points at the end of the tournament, wins the well deserved medal.
For the Golden Boot, Golden Gloves and World Cup Champions, just send in the player/keeper/team name in a mail destined to LC Dirty Vader (dirtyvader@tcbg.net), LC Chris McCollum (ministryisadeity@aol.com) and CCed to VA Rejili (NHolthaus@Gmail.com) and VA Uther (utherapcustennin@yahoo.co.uk). Submissions must be in before the start of the first World Cup game: Germany vs Costa Rica (17:00 pm GMT, 12 pm EST).
For the Pre-Tournament Predictions section, you will first have to send an email to the above adresses, saying you want to participate. After which you will be sent a word document with a WC chart in it, that will allow you to easily input your predictions. Please be very quick with your applications, so that we can send you the .doc and leave you with enough time to input your predictions and send them back to us again. This is the most exciting of the sections and so I hope we'll have a good number of participants.
We will also be managing a seperate IRC channel (#TC_WorldCup) dedicated to the World Cup,where EH members can meet. It will be up for the whole duration of the WC, where peeps can talk about everything WC related and brag about their national teams victories. See you there!
Direct any concerns or questions you have to DV (dirtyvader@tcbg.net) and C (ministryisadeity@aol.com). Good luck in both the comps and the World Cup!
* A Collector's Eye
AD Jarek La'na would like a portrait of himself for posterity of course :P He’d like the EHs artists to have a read of http://mb.emperorshammer.net/viewtopic.php?t=3365 and be inspired. He will except images in any popular format, and he’d like to encourage you to use whatever medium you can... submissions to him at comm@emperorshammer.org with the subject "You call this art?". IS-BR for every artist that submits a good quality piece, with a one off award of an MoC - a Platinum Cluster - for his favourite at the end of the competition.
* Iron Mission Creator 2006
Due to apparent public demand, its time once again to crown a champ. For those who don't know, IMC is to see what our beloved mission creators can do under pressure. They are given a topic and an hour & a half, and we see what comes out the end. Rounds will take place after the EH Meeting in #vsd_sinister (unless otherwise mentioned) and all submissions will be judged by TAC, CA:TAC and another party. The creator with the best mission will progress to the next round (and so on and so forth). Final Winner will also have the chance to go up against TAC/CA:TAC in the chance for further medals and bragging rights. Anyone wanting to take part is to email both VA Master and his CA indicating as such no later than the 28th of May. A message board post has been set up here for anything u may wish to comment on or ask.
* BGCOM Report Trivia
From April to June, after each weekly BGCOM report is sent out on the mailing lists, 5 trivia questions will be mailed out. The person who gets the most correct in the quickest amount of time will earn 3 points, second place will get 2 points, third place will get 1 point. The pilot with the most points at the end of each month will earn themselves an IS-GR, second place will get an IS-SR, third place will get an IS-BR.
* Smiert SpioCOMM
Every Saturday till June, at 1.30 EST, La'an or Brukhar will be hiding on a +s IRC channel. Whoever finds them first will receive an MoC. Impossible? All participants will be provided with a first channel - its topic will be a clue to the next channel. Only by answering the clues and finding the correct channels will they be found. Clues will be themed, with one word answers that will take the form #answer.
* Imperial Alliance Propoganda Festival
Submit content to help promote Imperial Alliance. This can include banners, slogans, etc. The best entry each week will get an IS-GR. The best entry overall will be selected when Imperial Alliance is released and will be awarded an IS-PR. Email entries to propoganda@ehtiecorps.org. Competition will run through January 30th, 2007.
* Quote of the Week competition
Got some funny IRC quotes? Send them in! Top 3 submissions per week earn an IS-BR; top 3 submissions per month earn an IS-SR; IS-PR to the yearly winner, IS-GR to second best yearly submission, and a IS-SR to the third best yearly submissions. Email the quotes to FA Joe (Noon001@aol.com). Only rules are they must have been said within the last 2 weeks (no old, archived quotes) and you can't send in quotes of things that you have said. Must be amusing things others have said. Competition will run through January 21st, 2007.
* TIE Corps Battlegroup Training Night:
The TCBG sponsored MP night. Show up in IRC channel #EHCOO on Saturdays at 6pm GMT (1pm EST) to win LoC's and DFC's
Dark Lord of the Week
The highly prestigious title of Dark Lord of the Week is only given to the person who has most advanced the success of the Wing, amused the Wing Commander, or slipped me the most $5 notes in a brown paper bag. This week's winner is:
Omicron Squadron pilots, for being so far the top Squadron in the Chal vs. Sov Comp!!!
Ewok of the Week
Yub Yub!
Every story has a hero, every journey has a first step, every Fleet has a pilot who's about as much use as an ashtray on a speeder bike. This weeks's Prize Ewok is none other than:
People not taking part in this competition.....WAKE UP...WE ARE FACING THE SOVEREIGN!!!
Quote of the Week
Hm, I don’t have any...
Reports received
Thunder Squadron: received
Typhoon Squadron: not received
Inferno Squadron: not received
Cyclone Squadron: not received
Tornado Squadron: received
Omicron Squadron: received
Here we go again...
Conclusion
What looked like a walk in the park for the Challenge in the first week has turned out to be a tight war against e Sovereign. Let me remind you that the Sovereign has considerably more pilots than we do, so our efforts must be doubled in order to beat them. We definitely have the best pilots, but we are outnumbered, so fight your best, don’t get lazy, and we will win this war...
Go Fly!!!!!!!!!!!
