Wing X Report #25
COL Daniel Bonini 8/21/2006
Wing X Weekly Report #25 – 21st of August 2006
Introduction
Welcome to another Wing X report!!
I’ve just completed this week’s assignment of Summer Patrol, and I’m exhausted, so I’ll try to keep this short...
Coranel sent us an e-mail this week, saying he is doing alright besides both arms being broken and he’s also not able to bath himself....if he keeps this up he might end up like DV...but he’s being taken good care of by his parents. Hopefully, he’ll be able to return soon.
With Coranel on leave, my direct superior officer is the BGCOM...but guess what, VA Talons Pryde suffered a car accident, but I believe he and his wife are doing alright, stuffed with painkillers and everything... This concerns me, because it appears that Dalk is trying to climb the stairs of command one by one, by having his superior officers suffer “accidents”.
We had a new arrival this week. SL Kal J’qan joined Tornado, flew a battle, got promoted to Lieutenant, passed IWATS Squadron Management 3 Course, applied to Typhoon Commander, and guess what....he got the job...congrats!!! I must inform you all, though, that this decision was not taken lightly, and I decided to give Kal a go because of his experience of 3 plus years in the Dark Brotherhood, being in some Commander positions at the time. Kal also got promoted to the rank of Commander, but in order to keep that rank, he will have to fulfill a tour of duty of no less than 6 months.
My first impressions with Kal’s work as Commander are great. He already issued a squadron report, set up a website for Typhoon, which still needs some work, but looks great so far, and he’s working on some competitions and communicating with his pilots to make the squadron active again. Keep it up, Kal, and good luck with your assignment!!!
With the new Typhoon Commander, Major Prost Varsis has transferred to Inferno Squadron!! That means that Dalk has another problem in his hands...good luck to him as well...
Well...Typhoon, check....now it leaves Cyclone. I wonder why the hack nobody wants to take a Command position in a squadron like Cyclone... The position is still open for applications, and all you have to do is take IWATS Squadron Management 3 course and apply, and you might get the chance to be a Commander. But be advised that I take the Squadron Commander job very seriously, meaning that it has responsibilities that the Commander must comply....it’s not an easy job, but it’s very rewarding....
Most of the recommendations from the Monthly Wing Evaluation have already been processed...but there is still one left being sorted out....I’m not sure why it’s taking so long...
Commendations of Loyalty are to be recommended by the Squadron Commanders to myself no later than Wednesday, so I can review the recommendations and choose among them to pass along to the BGCOM (since Coranel will still be on leave). Any questions let me know...
I think I missed a competition that Coranel set up....it’s a competition to make him a new Uniform...check details on the “Competitions Center”.

* TIECorps Summer Patrol 2006
The new summer patrol is kicking off this coming monday, the 17th, and it will run for 8 consecutive weeks. Each week will have a set number of missions to fly and each will progress in difficulty.
To participate in this long Summer Patrol, all you need to do is submit the required missions (which are posted at the Sovereign forum), with the topic of "Summer Patrol Week 1 to AD Stele at tieknt@gmail.com. You will have until the end of Sunday to submit them. Those who survive the Summer Patrol of 8 weeks shall be rewarded the Iron Star-Gold Wings!

Week 5 Summer Patrol Assignment – to be assigned
* Imperial Propoganda
A recent news post on the TC page (http://www.ehtiecorps.org/news.asp#3988 ) entitled Intelligence Report Procedures. It came across as "Do you want to spy on your friends, and get them in trouble for having fun? Do so today, and earn medals in the ID!" Well, your task, if you choose to accept it, is to make a mock-piece-of-propoganda. It's Intel, so shouldn't be too hard. Make a mock-news-post making fun of this, and earn a medal! Any submissions go to myself, but also cc Coranel so he can check whatever it is you are doing...IS-SR for the first place, and IS-BR for the second!!! Deadline is the end of this month!!
* COM’s Uniform Competition
Despite holding a "make me a uniform" competition as BGCOM just a few months ago, Coranel is once again in need of a new custom uniform, as he is now ChalCOM! So make him a new one! IS-SR to the winner and IS-BR to 2nd place! Runs until August 31st, or whenever Coranel get’s back...
* Ace of the Tie Corps
Starting this month, we now have a new monthly competition series - Ace of the TIE Corps. The concept is simple - the pilot with the most flown missions at the end of each month will recieve an Iron Star with Gold Wings and the title "Ace of the Month". You will be able to see the progress of pilots over time by checking the Pilot Kill Board. At the end of the year, the pilot with the most missions flown will recieve an Iron Star with Platinum Wings and the title of "Ace of the TIE Corps".
The competition is open to all members of the TIE Corps and the counts are based on missions. Thus a battle will earn you more points than a free mission. The June 2006 division of the competition will end on 30th June, so get flying. Good luck!
* Imperial Alliance Propoganda Festival
Submit content to help promote Imperial Alliance. This can include banners, slogans, etc. The best entry each week will get an IS-GR. The best entry overall will be selected when Imperial Alliance is released and will be awarded an IS-PR. Email entries to propoganda@ehtiecorps.org. Competition will run through January 30th, 2007.
* Quote of the Week competition
Got some funny IRC quotes? Send them in! Top 3 submissions per week earn an IS-BR; top 3 submissions per month earn an IS-SR; IS-PR to the yearly winner, IS-GR to second best yearly submission, and a IS-SR to the third best yearly submissions. Email the quotes to FA Joe (Noon001@aol.com). Only rules are they must have been said within the last 2 weeks (no old, archived quotes) and you can't send in quotes of things that you have said. Must be amusing things others have said. Competition will run through January 21st, 2007.
* Wing X Pilot of the Week/Month
Each week the Wing X Commander will choose a pilot he believes has performed better then any other pilot on the ship that week. At the end of the month, Challenge Commodore will look at the overall performance of every Pilot of the Week for that month, and will choose one of them to become the Pilot of the Month. Each Pilot of the Week will be awarded an IS-BR and each Pilot of the Month will be awarded an IS-SR. The Wing X Pilot of the week will always be chosen in the “Dark Lord of the Week” Section of this report.
Dark Lord of the Week
The highly prestigious title of Dark Lord of the Week is only given to the person who has most advanced the success of the Wing, amused the Wing Commander, or slipped me the most $5 notes in a brown paper bag. The Dark Lord of the Week is also the ISD Challenge’s Pilot of the Week, and so gets an IS-BR. This week's winner is:
MAJ Prost Varsis, for doing more than what he’s been asked for......that’s right....
Ewok of the Week
Yub Yub!
Every story has a hero, every journey has a first step, every Fleet has a pilot who's about as much use as an ashtray on a speeder bike. This weeks's Prize Ewok is none other than:
MAJ Prost Varsis....I wouldn’t let him get away with Dark Lord of the Week untouched now, would I?
Quote of the Week
Morpheus: “How are you "dirty" in comparison to the original Vader. Do you simply not shower?”
Prost: “He's French and the French don't bathe. Therefore making him dirtier that the original Vader. :P”

Conclusion
Did I say this was going to be short??? Well, I don’t think I’ll ever make this short. But that’s ok. I’m glad that another Commander position has been filled, and I wish Kal the best luck in Typhoon. I’m sure he will make us proud... And yet, Cyclone Commander job is still open for applications, and I hope this week I may be able to find a new commander to this very important squadron of our Wing. Have a good week, guys!!!
